Position Summary
Hudson Lab School seeks a strategic, creative, and highly organized Marketing and Communications Manager to lead the School’s day-to-day marketing and communications efforts.
This person will shape how Hudson Lab School tells its story to prospective families, current families, partners, and the broader community. The role blends storytelling, content creation, brand stewardship, digital marketing, and project management, with a particular focus on making student learning visible in an authentic and compelling way.
This is a mid-level, individual contributor role reporting to the Head of School. The Marketing and Communications Manager will work closely with Admissions and support advancement communications in partnership with school leadership. This is a full-year, benefits-eligible position.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and execute the School’s marketing and communications strategy in alignment with its mission, values, and growth priorities
Serve as steward of the Hudson Lab School brand across all channels and materials
Translate the School’s project-based learning approach, interdisciplinary curriculum, and student experience into clear, compelling storytelling
Partner with Admissions to support recruitment, enrollment, and retention through targeted campaigns and communications
Create, edit, and manage content for the website, newsletters, email, social media, print collateral, and presentations
Capture and curate photography and video that authentically reflect student learning and community life
Manage and update the School website, social media platforms, and email communications
Track analytics and campaign performance to inform strategy and improve outcomes
Lead internal communications for families, staff, and partners
Support advancement and fundraising communications, including donor materials, campaign messaging, and event communications
Collaborate with faculty and staff to identify stories, projects, and achievements across the School
Coordinate with outside vendors and manage timelines, budgets, and deliverables for marketing projects
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
3-5 years of experience in marketing and communications, preferably in education, nonprofit, or mission-driven organizations
Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills across formats
Experience managing websites, social media, and email marketing tools
Familiarity with analytics and data-informed marketing practices
Proficiency with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this role is $65,000-$77,500, commensurate with experience. Hudson Lab School offers a comprehensive benefits package and a collaborative, mission-driven work environment.
Location
This role is based on campus in Hastings-on-Hudson, New York, and is expected to be primarily on site, with flexibility for up to approximately 30 percent remote work.
